The Swallow
The balcony welcomed you
but when I walked out you were gone
I saw you spread your wings
as you glided through space and time.
You left a mess on the patio
the handrails covered in your past
I opened the door to catch a glimpse
of your beauty
only for you to fly away again.
Maybe one day you'll stay long enough
for me to truly appreciate your grandeur
maybe as soon as I realize
that Home is in another place.
